CSAR Advanced Search Management (ASM) - 2025
The Advanced Search Management (ASM) class builds on the skills taught in the CSAR Basic Search Management (BSM) class and was created by the CSAR Education Committee to fulfill the need for search management education. CSAR has been providing search management training for nearly 40 years.
The class format will be six evening virtual sessions on Thursdays from 18:00 - 21:00 starting October 19th, 2025. On the weekend of November 15th and 16th, 2025 an in-person practicum in Leadville, CO will complete the class.
The class will concentrate on complex, multi-day search scenarios and advanced search management topics, including:

Consensus Probability of Area.

Analyzing and utilizing Probability of Detection to calculate Probability of Success.

The search planning process.

Incident Action Plan development and production.

Incident hand-off situational awareness.
-
Suspending the search.
-
Demobilization.
